South Africa ready to host second edition of IPL

Durban: South Africa has given the green signal as the host for the second season of the Indian Premier League from April 10, sources told CNN-IBN on Tuesday. IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi met Cricket South Africa CEO Gerald Majola at an undisclosed venue to discuss the possibility of hosting the second edition of the Twenty20 event here.

South Africa has assured full security during IPL, it is learnt.

Modi is expected to fly out from Johannesburg for London on Tuesday itself. He is expected to hold talks with the England and Wales Cricket Board there, exploring the possibility of hosting the league there.

South Africa, however, has an edge over England as a potential host of the cash-rich event because of the good weather in the April-May period.
